This paper outlines the research design for creating a measuring scale to quantitatively assess individuals' sense of place-belongingness. The development of such a measuring scale, which is currently a gap, can assist human-computer interaction researchers in assessing and refining their technology-mediated interventions for improving individuals' place-belongingness, a key component of mental well-being. The scale encompasses factors that represent essential dimensions of place-belongingness, which are based on real-life expressions of the concept. We describe the main contributions of the proposed measuring scale and discuss potential challenges in its design and validation process.
