In this paper, the focus is given on the current control from the supercapacitor for peak power and accumulator for continuous power delivery required during operation. The practical application of this paper is a power supply for the electric drive of the robotic arm. The accumulator and supercapacitor storage system's control algorithm is shown. The supercapacitor is linked in parallel to the common node via the bidirectional converter, while the accumulator is directly connected to the load. With an uncontrolled DC voltage and a current-controlled source, the peak power demand is subsequently simulated. The used bidirectional converter operates in the current mode and does not need the voltage controller. The benefit of the control method is that it just uses the load current measurement, rather than requiring information regarding load demand from the robotic system.
