In this letter, a compact planar <tex-math notation="LaTeX">N</tex-math> -way hybrid power divider (HPD) is presented with <tex-math notation="LaTeX">λ</tex-math> /4 <tex-math notation="LaTeX">N</tex-math> -parallel transmission lines (TLs). To realize good reflection and isolation performance among output ports in the planar structure, a ( <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$N-1)$</tex-math> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">×</tex-math> ( <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$N- 1$</tex-math> ) isolation network is newly shunted in the <tex-math notation="LaTeX">λ</tex-math> /4 <tex-math notation="LaTeX">N</tex-math> -parallel TLs in the proposed HPD, where the proposed isolation network includes one column of resistors and <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$N- 2$</tex-math> columns of capacitors. All the design parameters can be summarized and calculated by one even-mode and <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$N- 1$</tex-math> odd-mode analysis. In the experiment, two fabricated circuits show good reflection and isolation performance at all output ports. Compared with former works, <tex-math notation="LaTeX">N</tex-math> can be selected arbitrarily, and fabricated circuits could be very compact.
