This paper addresses practical applications according to a target topology related to benchmarking between WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) standards in terms of coverage and transfer speeds, traffic analysis and coverage area testing in different scenarios in the 2.4 GHz band. Bandwidth is important in determining the performance of a network. The results indicate the evolution of 802.11n at 40 MHz compared to the other standards at 20 MHz. Although a study published by research firm MarketsandMarkets in 2021 indicates that the number of Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) networks in the 2.4 GHz band is expected to decrease in the coming years, they are still the most numerous worldwide.
