This paper describes the results of benchmarking the sensor readings in a real-time monitoring testing environment. The performance of Redis versus Firebase database is compared for this system. The tests were run locally. Various parameters including latency, speed and data availability were analyzed. The motivation of the comparative analysis of these two databases performance in parallel is to provide an alternative to the cloud-based architectures that are vulnerable to attacks.
