Distributed work necessitates metrics to track collaborative efficiency. For those metrics to be used appropriately, however, they must be displayed effectively. A metric for team multitasking throughput was redefined to adapt and capture fluctuations in efficiency over time. This metric was displayed in a variety of ways, comparing numeric and graphical display types to a control condition. Team multitasking throughput was successfully adapted to capture fluctuations in efficiency over time in dyads – i.e., simulated agents with varying response times and accuracy. In a within-subjects online experiment, participants imagined themselves as a supervisor of dyad efficiency using three different displays. Inferential statistical analysis showed no differences between conditions on criteria of interest, but frequencies showed differences in participants' understanding across display types. This work provides a proof of concept for the team efficiency displayed in several ways and will be further investigated.
