After a ±800kV inverter station is put into operation, there are frequent alarms of Commutation Failure Prevention when one AC filter is put into operation. And the fault recording showed that the zero-sequence voltage fluctuated greatly. In view of this phenomenon, this paper introduces and analyzes the principle of commutation failure prevention of the inverter station. Combining with the fault recording results, it is determined that the cause of commutation failure to predict frequent action is that the calculation amount of zero-sequence voltage exceeds the action setting. Finally, it is found that the action setting is too small by comparing the calculation amount of zero-sequence voltage for several times. Therefore, reasonable optimization suggestions are given to facilitate the stable operation of the inverter station.
