In order to improve the efficiency of the underground water source heat pump system in Shengjing City Shopping Plaza in Shenyang and avoid the heat penetration phenomenon in the pumping and recharge process of multiple wells, this study is committed to explore the reasonable layout form of the underground water source heat pump well group. By using a highly specialized simulation tool, namely FEFLOW software, a 3D model is established to simulate the pumping process of underground water source heat pump system. In the simulation, the layout of different wells (20, 15, and ten) and different pumping volumes was investigated to understand the change of water temperature in the composite well and consider the change trend of water temperature in the next year to determine the best well group arrangement. The results show that the change of composite well pumping capacity has a more significant effect on preventing thermal penetration than the effect of well distance. Therefore, under the premise of ensuring the minimum well distance, the optimization of the number of composite Wells should be increased as far as possible, which will provide important support to improve the system efficiency.
