Physical activity can be understood as any and all movements caused by the skeletal muscles and that result in energy expenditure above the resting level. Physical exercise, although related to physical activity, is not a synonym for it, being the exercise understood as one of the forms of structured, planned, repetitive physical activity that seeks to develop physical fitness, organic-functional rehabilitation or motor skills (NAHAS, 2017). It is already evident in the literature that its regular practice is directly associated with disease prevention and improvement of human health and quality of life. The sooner the habit of physical activity is encouraged, the greater the health benefits will be. Some of these benefits are: reducing the chance of developing some types of cancer; also chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension, weight control, cardiovascular diseases, greater physical disposition in addition to better social interaction (BRASIL, 2021).
