The Nova Iguaçu Municipal Civil Defense Secretariat, aiming at community participation, in support of the prevention, preparation, response and recovery actions contained in the National Civil Protection and Defense Policy, has been bringing the population of the municipality, which has more than half of its territory established in green areas, protected, many of them, by Conservation Units, whether for sustainable use or restricted use, where the role of the community is fundamental in supporting the actions. The creation and training of volunteer agents in civil protection and defense is fundamental to public safety, as well as increasing people's resilience in the face of adverse incidents that arise, such as floods, floods and landslides or forest fires, in the rainy and in the driest, respectively. The proposed research aims to develop a tool translated into a map of accident and disaster points, according to the GIS Geographic Information System, for neighborhoods that were affected by the rains, in the months of February and March 2024, using as a source of information and communication of facts, those indicated by the voluntary defense and protection and civil defense agents of the Civil Protection and Defense Centers now officially established and whose members are registered in the Municipal Network of Servers, Volunteers and Friends of the Community. The result is to meet the requirements of Federal Laws 12,608/2012 and 14,750/2023 and to achieve the global goals of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction by 2030. The researchers will be the Secretariat's own specialist agents, who methodologically will be, in an exploratory way, collecting data and preparing the proposed georeferenced mapping.
