In favor of the green economy, the concern with cleaner and more efficient technologies has been the focus of much research related to process intensification. In this context, the present work aims to present an energetic and environmental analysis for the separation of the ternary mixture Benzene-Toluene-Xylene (BTX) using a split-wall column (DWC), endorsing previous studies. The simulation results revealed that the application of this technique was able to reduce total energy input, water consumption and CO2 emissions by 15.78%, 30.31% and 15.65%, respectively. These findings indicate promising sustainability gains.
