Strategies to Attract the Next Generation of Talent to the Semiconductor Industry

The semiconductor industry is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.28% from 2023 to 2032 which necessitates an enlarged workforce. In this paper, we present findings on strategies to attract the next generation of talent, with emphasis on increasing the participation of women within the semiconductor industry and opening the talent pipeline beyond electrical and computer engineering. Another key opportunity is for the industry to increase and highlight its contributions towards the common good-including social responsibility with an emphasis on environmental impact-to capture the interest of students.
