Bispidine picolinates quickly form very stable complexes with the positron emitter 64CuII under physiological conditions. These bifunctional chelators can be easily attached to amino-terminated tumor-seeking target modules. The subsequent 64Cu labeling is fast and efficient, and does not require demanding purification steps. These compounds have great potential for the development of copper-labeled radiopharmaceuticals.
