Thrombo-hemorrhagic complications in 37 years-old ethanolic: Superior mesenteric vein thrombosis and upper GI bleeding as a first presenting feature of polycythemia rubra vera

A 37 years-old man, chronic alcoholic and chronic smoker, presented with abdominal pain and fever. Full blood count was suggestive of polycythemia rubra vera with high packed cell volume of 57%.
