This paper presents a new cable design that offers embedded capacitance. This is useful in the design of coils for wirelessly charging electric vehicles at 85kHz since it enables the elimination of compensation circuits. This paper presents the methodology and results of extensive computer modelling of this innovative cable for coil design applications and compares them to equivalent models using conventional Litz wire in a comparison of impedances.
