Water scarcity is a pressing issue globally, particularly in regions like the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where arid climates and high population densities exacerbate the challenge.Traditional water purification methods, such as distillation and chlorination, are often inadequate to meet the growing demand for clean water.Nanotechnology offers innovative solutions to address this challenge by leveraging the unique properties of nanomaterials for water purification. In this paper, we explore the potential applications of nanotechnology for water purification within the UAE context, focusing on enhanced desalination, removal of emerging contaminants, treatment of desalination brine, and point -of -use water treatment.By harnessing the power of nanotechnology, the UAE can achieve sustainable and efficient water purification, and thus ensure access to clean and safe drinking water for its population.
