An LC-VCO using an active inductor, with a focus on wide tunability, low power consumption and high frequency is presented in this work. The proposed LC-VCO is meticulously designed utilizing 90nmTSMC technology. The simulation outcomes demonstrate that, at a supply voltage of 1V, the proposed design achieves a notable oscillation frequency of 19.04 GHz. while consuming a very low power of 7.83 mW. By adjusting the control voltage from 0.2V to 1.0V, a wide tuning range from 8.62 GHz to 19.04 GHz is accomplished. The resultant phase noise achieved is −81.06 dBc/Hz at a frequency offset of 1 MHz, and the figure of merit is −140.7 @14.79 GHz.
