The collision term of a magnetized plasma is re-derived. It is found that the results of Rostoker (1960 Phys. Fluids 3 922) and Hassan and Watson (1977 Plasma Phys. 19 237) are correct while the result of Erofeev (2023 Plasma Phys. Control. Fusion 65 085014) is not.
