Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the specialized content knowledge (SCK) of Taekwondo Poomsae coaches.BR Method: We enlisted eight coaches with national team experience and five coaches without such experience to participate in the research. To analyze SCK, we compared the absolute error between referees' scores and coaches' scores by reviewing game videos to assess error in performance knowledge. Additionally, we analyzed task presentation knowledge using a content map.BR Results: Coaches with national team experience demonstrated higher accuracy compared to the other group of coaches in performance error knowledge. While all coaches achieved SCK scores of 3.0 or higher, those with national team experience attained higher scores. The extended task was the most commonly used by all coaches. Interviews revealed the significance of extended tasks, emphasizing their foundation in personal experiences and expertise, resulting in diverse task presentations. Refining tasks (R) were underscored for emphasizing individual player styles in competitions, while applying task-game (AG) routines were described as adapting to actual games.BR Conclusion: Expanding SCK-related research could involve focusing on coaches' characteristics, such as playing experience, and other performance-relevant variables.
