The present paper is an outcome of a floristic study that was undertaken to prepare a checklist of the grasses in the Charikoria River Chapories of the Brahmaputra floodplain in and around Dhakuakhana of Upper Assam.A total of 44 species of grasses under 33 genera belonging to Poaceae were recorded from the studied site, of which, 30 are of perennial in nature and 14 are annual.Paspalum and Tripidium were major genera with four and three number of species respectively.Hemicryptophytic life form was dominant with 21 species followed by therophytic one with 14 species.
