Life form of plants is the sum of all life processes and have evolved directly in response to the environment.The proportion of the flora in various categories varies from one climate to another .An attempt has been made to study the life forms of herbaceous vegetation available along the Nambul River Riparian zone(Longitude: 93 o 45'6.48"E to 93 o 57'56.88"Eand Latitude: 24 o 35'59.23"N to 24 o 58'15.6"N) of Manipur, India.It supports a wide spectrum of species dominated by Poaceae and Asteraceae families.In the floristic spectrum, the most represented life-forms were Therophytes followed by Hemicryptophytes in the Nambul river riparian zone revealing the disturbed nature of the vegetation and phytoclimate as Thero-Hemicryptophytic.
