Advances in information and communication technology have changed so that you can enjoy daily life online. The importance of identifying individuals online and safeguarding this information has significantly increased.Compared to other countries, South Korea faced a relatively easier challenge in identifying individuals due to the existence of an administrative system called the resident registration number. However, there were many issues related to resident registration numbers as personal identification information online, and alternative means for online identification and identity authentication appeared. While the Korean government has achieved a high level of e-government, it recently announced plans to implement a digital platform government in 2023.This is the case with Any-ID, an integrated authentication means and a simple login method. However, the substance of Any-ID still needs to be clarified, and the reason it appeared is not well known.Future changes can be predicted and understood only when the past and the present are clearly understood. Therefore, this study aims to examine the changes in the identification system and authentication means so far and to predict the future. It is difficult to expect how identification will change in the future.Nevertheless, it is necessary to analyze identification and identification considering future changes. This is thought to help prepare for the future in the public sector.
