The expansion of omics and bioinformatics has dramatically transformed the agricultural sector. In recent years, there has been a surge in academic studies in these scientific fields, growing at an extraordinary rate. Despite this growth, a comprehensive understanding of how omics and bioinformatics can enhance agriculture is still lacking. To bridge this knowledge gap, we are conducting a bibliometric analysis to explore the current interaction between omics, bioinformatics, and agriculture in scholarly articles. Employing a resource-based view (RBV), we identify key agricultural resources significantly affected by omics and bioinformatics, such as genetic material, microbial communities, soil biota, water quality, nutrient cycles, pest resistance, energy efficiency, and livestock genetics, and suggest various topics for future research.
