This paper presents an innovative design approach for a buck-boost converter circuit, utilizing a pair of inductors to enable operation within three distinct configurations. In the primary configuration, the circuit yields dual outputs, with one displaying an inverting characteristic while the other remains non-inverting. In the second configuration, the system exclusively employs an inductor to generate a non-inverting output, maintaining consistent gain like the conventional buck-boost converter. In the third configuration, an inductor is again utilized to produce an inverting output, maintaining an identical gain as the conventional buck-boost converter. Each configuration is accompanied by three distinct design conditions, ensuring stable output with exceptionally brief settling times. With various configurations and designs aimed at achieving stable output without initial oscillations, they are highly valuable in applications requiring steady voltage levels, like electric vehicle (EV) charging. The circuit's design and analysis were conducted using Altair PSIM 2022.1 software.
