As a common disease of the digestive system in our clinic, the pathogenesis of reflux esophagitis (RE) has not yet been clarified in domestic and international studies, and it is likely to be the result of the interaction of multiple factors. The detection rate of RE has been increasing year by year against the background of the continuous development of our country's economy as well as the improvement of medical testing technology and changes in dietary habits. The pathogenesis of RE is closely related to the weakening of its anti-reflux mechanism, delayed gastric emptying, genetic factors, and psychiatric factors, etc. With the increasingly significant effect of Chinese medicine in clinical practice, the treatment of RE is also becoming more and more diversified, which includes oral administration of traditional Chinese medicines, acupuncture, auricular acupoint therapy, and buried thread treatment, etc. Therefore, this article will focus on the treatment of RE through domestic and international studies. Therefore, this paper will mainly comprehensively discuss the mechanism research of GERD at home and abroad as well as the clinical effect of TCM intervention in the treatment of GERD, in order to provide clinical diagnosis and treatment ideas for the better treatment of this disease.
