Predictive modeling study demonstrates accurate critical burst pressure prediction in nuclear steam generator tubes, highlighting improved safety early warning and maintenance.
Steam generator is the key equipment for energy conversion in nuclear power plants. The high temperature and high pressure fluid flowing inside the steam generator will cause flow-induced vibration of heat transfer tubes, resulting in fretting wear damage of heat transfer tubes, which is easy to cause major accidents such as pipeline explosion. The WOA-SVR prediction model was constructed to explore its influence on the critical burst pressure of heat transfer tube by taking the three defect indexes of defect length, defect wrap angle and defect depth as input variables. The results show that the average relative error of the prediction model is only 2.1 %, and the accuracy is high, which is helpful to guide the safety early warning and maintenance of steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants.
