The article is devoted to the consideration of topical issues about the training of Russian mediators in the framework of additional professional education. With the use of general scientific methods and the conducted survey, the problems of legal regulation of the training of the mediator profession are noted. Through a retrospective, foreign experience and analysis of the draft law prepared by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the proposals for the regulation in the law on mediation of forms, levels and duration of training, requirements for personnel and other conditions of the organization of vocational education are substantiated.
