In visible light communication (VLC) systems, asymmetrically clipped DC biased optical OFDM (ADO-OFDM) achieves the better tradeoff between spectrum efficiency and optical power efficiency. However, ADO-OFDM suffers from the larger peak-to-average power (PAPR) resulting in the occurrence of non-linear distortion at the transmitter. To address high PAPR, we proposed a simple PAPR reduction techniques for ADO-OFDM VLC systems. The proposed scheme adopts the well-known peak sample detection and appending scheme.
