This article shows the use of CAD simulations in research and development of new devices, such as an aerodynamic vibration damper for overhead power line wires. Also considered are options for calculating the mass and layout of devices that dampen the water hammer of high-speed wind pressure on the absorber and wire using various materials as a function of the magnitude of the high-speed wind pressure in a given area of operation of the overhead power line. Research work has been carried out to compare variants of the ratios of the sizes of aerodynamic dampers when analyzing their total mass, taking into account the preservation of all parameters that determine the damping of the oscillatory process of wires at different values of the wind speed acting on the wire.
