The purpose of this analysis was to characterize the perioperative experience and rapidity of treatment response in a multi-center setting. METHODS: Acute (two-week) clinical outcomes from two ethics-approved clinical trials were pooled and analyzed. Analyzed patients had prostatic size 20-80 mL, prostatic urethral length 2-5 cm, baseline IPSS>13, and baseline QMax<13 mL/s. RESULTS: 34 male subjects (mean age 61.2±10.7 yr) implanted with FloStent at four centers in Panama, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico were included in the analysis. Mean prostatic volume was 46.4±15.8 mL (range 20-78). Implantations were performed by seven different surgeons, each time using a flexible cystoscope, in an outpatient setting. All attempted implantations were successful. No patient required a post-procedure catheter. Four different types of scopes were used (Storz, Olympus, SeeSheen, Ambu). Devices were implanted using either standard grasping forceps (n=7) or a proprietary delivery tool (n=27). All patients voided spontaneously prior to same-day discharge. No device-related SAEs or UAEs were recorded. Across the cohort, mean IPSS score dropped from 23.8±4.5 to 12.3±9.0 at the two-week timepoint, while mean QOL score dropped from 5.1±0.8 to 2.3±1.7 (Figure 1). Early symptom reduction with Rivermark FloStent™. CONCLUSIONS: The Rivermark FloStent™ is a catheter-free BPH device therapy that rapidly reduces bother from LUTS. There appears to be a short learning curve, excellent safety profile, and early enhancement in quality-of-life.
