Feasibility of enhancing the energy transfer between active III-V waveguide and normal SOI waveguide for hybrid integration is verified using grating-assisted codirectional couplers (GACC). High coupling efficiency can be obtained by adding a GACC structure to compensate the phase mismatching between two highly asynchronous waveguides.
