The electroencephalogram (EEG) is an exam used to evaluate the functional state of the brain and diagnose various cerebral, neurological, and psychiatric diseases. Performing the EEG requires technical and practical skills from the specialist who performs it, which are not written somewhere for a beginner in this professional practice. This project aims to present the methodology for marking EEG points in the International 10-20 System, using a geometric compass method that was tested in outpatient EEG exams, also called routine EEG, and showed considerable time savings. Therefore, this concise consultation and training material was produced, which presents the method step-by-step to help beginners in the profession carry out the EEG exam with quality and reliability.
