Metasurface has been shown excellent performance on controlling electromagnetic(EM) waves. From passive to active, metasurface has been developed to be programmable to dynamically and arbitrarily manipulate EM wavefields. This article demonstrates a metasurface unit adaptive optimization method based on the PSO algorithm. Using the structural size of the unit as an updated variable in the algorithm. Obtaining the phase and amplitude characteristics of the unit through an modeling and simulation program. As an illustrative example, we present an optimization work for the phase difference of a set of units. The phase difference has been optimized to a considerable value, demonstrating the feasibility of the algorithm in optimization.
