Improvement of zonal technology of potato cultivation in the North-West Caspian Sea Region

Potatoes are the most important vegetable crop and the third most important food crop after rice and wheat. The advantage of potatoes is its high yield potential. The main purpose of this study is to develop and improve the zonal technology of cultivating potatoes of the average ripening period. The technology includes tuber processing before planting and foliar treatment, which affect the yield indicators. Field studies were carried out in an experimental irrigated area during 2021...2023. According to the study results, the maximum yield of tubers of 94.3 t/ha was after tuber and leaf treatment with Forsazh preparation during the growing season of the Azhur variety. The average tuber weight in this variant was 167.2 g. According to calculations of economic efficiency, a highly profitable variant for the joint application of N120P60K60 + Forsazh (leaf treatment + tubers’ spraying) was identified for this variety. Profitability was 348.9% with total production costs of 453.9 thousand rubles/ha. The economic assessment of leaf treatments in the cultivation of potatoes, carried out on the basis of the technological map, and the established prices for 2021...2023, testified to their rather high efficiency.
