Existing experimental data of the nuclear quadrupole interaction frequency (νQ) for indium, tin, and thallium as function of temperature are analyzed as a product of the structural contribution multiplied by a Debye-Waller type factor with a system-specific proportionality constant. For the theoretical calculation of the structural effect the WIEN2k code is applied using the mostly well-known, but reanalyzed lattice parameters as function of temperature. The necessary vibrational amplitudes are reasonably well known from X-ray and Mössbauer spectroscopy data in the case of Sn, for In a partial data set is available, but for Tl the standard Debye-approximation had to be employed. Revised information on the nuclear quadrupole moments obtained from the now available T = 0 νQ frequencies is presented.
