In this paper, agricultural waste materials have been used in the development of microwave absorbers due to their favorable dielectric properties and hence suitable for anechoic chamber applications, stealth structure and electromagnetic devices applications. This paper describes the efficacy of a microwave absorber made from different agriculture waste materials named as rice husk (RH), sugarcane bagasse (SCB), peanut shell (PS) and corn husk (CH). The materials are characterized in terms of their surface morphology and elemental analysis to understand their capability to absorb electromagnetic waves. Likewise, their dielectric properties are evaluated by transmission line method in the X-band frequency range (8.2-12.4 GHz). Furthermore, the designed samples are simulated to evaluate their reflectivity by the use of CST microwave simulator. From the results it can be concluded that the all four types of agricultural residues have the potential to be used as microwave absorbers.
