The article explores the issue of the formation of institutions for identification and authentication of subjects of private law in the digital environment. It is substantiated that in the digital environment, methods of individualization of subjects of private law are supplemented by identification and authentication processes, and the means of their individualization are supplemented by identifiers. It is concluded that the impact of digital transformation affected the general, special, individual legal status of subjects of private law. The author comes to the conclusion that the methods of interaction between persons participating in digital civil circulation are associated with identification and authentication.
