This study explores biocompatible matrixes that release lysozyme in tissue engineering, indicating their potential utility.
The structure and diffusion properties of combined ultra-fiber matrices containing microspheres for the prolonged release of lysozyme have been studied. The matrices are biocompatible and do not possess cytotoxicity. The matrices were produced by the electrospinning method. These materials are suitable for solution of tissue engineering problems, because they combine ultrathin polyhydroxybutyrate fibers that promote efficient attachment and growth of cells, and microparticles of polyhydroxybutyrate capable of prolonged release of a bioactive substance. These properties allow us to recommend these matrices for tissue engineering.
