This study reveals the vibrational behavior of curved panels on a Winkler elastic foundation, indicating effects of geometric imperfections and loading conditions.
This study deals with the vibrational behavior of shallow doubly-curved panels resting on a Winkler nonlinear elastic foundation and subjected to a system of uniform edge loads and a lateral pressure field. Transverse shear, geometrical nonlinearities and initial geometric imperfections are incorporated and their implications on the frequency-load interaction are emphasized. A great deal of attention is given to the influence of the Winkler linear and nonlinear foundation moduli upon the vibrational response in the pre/postbuckling ranges and a number of pertinent conclusions are highlighted.
