This approach enhances modeling and simulation in hybrid systems for automotive powertrain development, implying efficiency improvements.
This paper describes a new computer aided engineering environment for the development of automotive powertrain control systems. We argue that such systems are hybrid in nature and that this new engineering environment should therefore support mixed continuous and discrete state systems development. To minimize development time and cost, the environment combines features of commercially available CASE and CACSD tools. In addition, modeling, simulation, rapid prototyping, and requirements tracking are incorporated to facilitate rapid and high quality systems development.
