This study identified the labor market and employment structure of the drama production industry, conducted surveys and in-depth interviews of actors to derive measures to improve their wage system, and investigated and analyzed cases of similar industries in Korea and overseas cases related to the wage system for broadcasting actors.Based on the results of the survey, the problems of the current performance fee system could be summarized as 1) comprehensive calculation practice, 2) excessive gap of performance fees between main cast and minor actors, 3) irrationality of the broadcasting (per episode) contract and ambiguous contract period. As an alternative to the wage system, it insisted on the necessity of the basic wage minimum system for actors and suggested possible institutional standards. The alternative performance fee system should aim to 1) define the minimum performance fee based on the number of days of filming, 2) design the minimum performance fee differentially according to the employment period, and 3) define the preparation and waiting times to be included in the calculation of the filming time and date in order to establish clear regulations on overtime work. This study aims to find significance in that it presents a new perspective on labor rights of various art workers engaged in the cultural and artistic professions.
