About the Aviation Formation on the Don

The article considers the first stage of the origin of the Don aviation, the role of the first pilots who laid the foundation of aviation in the Don region. The beginning of the formation of an aviation school in Russia is traditionally associated with the appearance of aviation schools in Gatchina and Sevastopol. It is shown that regional aviation in the early 20th century began its existence on a par with the capital. It is revealed that the organization of aviation business took place in difficult conditions dictated by the Civil War, personnel starvation in the region, and economic instability. The matter was complicated by the lack of safe supplies of technical support for aviation forces in the region. Nevertheless, thanks to the enthusiasm of local aviators, it became possible to form the first Don aviation detachments, which played a prominent role in the aeronautics in the region. The forming of the aviation business on the Don took place in several stages.
