A reconfigurable buck-boost multi-ratio Charge Pump (CP) based on the cross-coupled topology is presented in this paper. The proposed architecture aims to merge different ratios and different operation modes in one converter. The converter is able to step-up or step-down the input voltage at the output only by interchanging the external connections of the circuit. The proposed Charge Pump by converting up or down the input voltage at the output using different conversion ratios and modes achieves higher efficiency levels maximizing the power that is delivered to the load. The reconfigurable buckboost CP has been designed in 65nm TSMC CMOS technology and has a continuous input voltage range from 1.2V to 3.6V and a continuous output voltage range from 1.6V to 3.6V. The converter indicates peak efficiency equal to 72% and it delivers up to 4mA load current.
