In research, the essence of the trait identification of traditional Chinese medicine is to explain the correlation between trait characteristics and internal tissue structure and its intrinsic chemical composition in modern science. At present, some new methods and technologies are applied to the identification of traditional Chinese medicine traits, such as simulating the electronic nose and electronic tongue generated by the human olfactory organ and taste system, and image recognition and identification are also used. These new methods and technologies are all extensions of trait identification and are conducive to the development of Chinese medicine.
