The use of hybrid electromagnetic elements in electrical complexes and systems makes it possible to improve the equipment reliability, as well as reduce the weight and dimensions of devices. The article addresses matters relating to the development of an algorithm for designing a multifunctional integrated electromagnetic component (MIEC) with specified electrical parameters for electrical systems. The MIEC designing is considered on the example of a traction power supply system of an electric vehicle with a DC/DC converter. The DC/DC converter circuit is supposed to accommodate a multifunctional integrated electromagnetic component as a choke, which will significantly reduce the device weight and dimensions. The algorithm of designing a MIEC-based choke makes it possible to select the optimal geometric parameters of the component. The parameters of the choke made on the basis of this component are compared with those of the classical choke made on the basis of a toroidal ferromagnetic core. It is shown that the use of the component can significantly reduce the weight and volume of the DC/DC converter output smoothing unit.
