Racial and ethnic disparities in influenza vaccination uptake and disease severity persist.1 During 13 influenza seasons between 2009 and 2022, Black, Hispanic, and American Indian or Alaska Native (AI/AN) adults had age-adjusted hospitalization rates an average of 1.2 to 1.8 times the rates of non-Hispanic White adults.1 During most of these seasons, rates were the highest in Black adults, with a range of 1.5 to 2.4 times that of White adults.1 Adult influenza vaccination coverage has also been consistently lower among Hispanic, AI/AN, and Black adults compared with White and non-Hispanic Asian adults since the 2010 to 2011 season.
