The cellular operator is based on a complex telecommunications infrastructure consisting of a large number of network devices. Performance monitoring of such networks is a very resource-intensive and difficult task. The performance monitoring process collects and processes large amounts of technical statistics and logs, from which radio network engineers can form an idea of the current network performance status. Based on the information obtained, cellular operators can quickly detect, locate and repair network problems, as well as carry out regular activities on the network to improve overall network performance. However, traditional methods of data processing and storage are not applicable due to the special qualities of the collected data, determined by its large volume and high intensity of its receipt. Thus, it is necessary to use big data technologies. This article offers a general description of a platform, designed to meet the challenges of telecommunications service providers, in particular the monitoring of network performance.
