The proposed material is the result of consideration of A. Ivanov’s work in the mode of his belonging to the samples of Russian literature. Pointing to interference as a distinctive feature of the selected author’s narration, we state his non-standard approach to describing the events and experiences of the characters. Taking into account the author’s myth-making as one of the narrative strategies of A. Ivanov, we came to the conclusion that there is a selectivity in the derivation of the characters of the author’s narrative. Additional functionality and new author’s interpretations of mythical images, such as vampires. demons, werewolves, doubles, dead and succubi, which are vividly represented in the novels “Psoglavtsy”, “Community”, “Kitchen”, “Shadows of the Teutons”, make it possible to assert A. V. Ivanov’s commitment to infernality as a way of creating a multidimensional narrative system.
