With the expansion of the use scope of electric power equipment, the prevention and control of electrical fire is becoming more and more important. Traditional electrofire detection methods have some problems of trigger delay and low sensitivity, so we need to find more efficient and accurate methods. In this paper, we propose an electrical fire detection method based on current frequency domain features. By comparing the traditional method with this method, the results show that the method based on the current frequency domain characteristics has a higher sensitivity, up to 18% better than the traditional method. However, the advantages in specificity, reliability, and alarm accuracy were relatively small, with a maximum of only 8%. This approach has potential, but still needs improvement. Through the research of this paper, it can provide a reference for further improving the detection accuracy and response speed, and ensuring the personal and property safety.
