The Role of The Government In Increasing The Reading Interest of The Sidoarjo Community Through Library Circulation Services in The Library and Archives Service of Sidoarjo Regency

Education is an important right of every citizen. It is said the all citizens have the right to recive a decent education, the education system prioritizesfaith, piety and law-abiding social life. Indonesia has the lowest interest in reading in the ASEAN region. The literacy rate of the Indonesian population is only 0,001%, wich means only one in a thousand is interested in reading. the method used descriptive qualitative. From the result of interviews conducted by researchers, it is stated that the indicvators are stabilizers in goverment's role in increasinf people's interest in reading. Digital and visual media are important for education and society. The goverment is also trying to provide access to digital information that must be available every day this province is also implementing a smart city application to collect digital data from the Sidoarjo City and Public service Departement
